Independent research for a sustainable energy future
The UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC)’s
Energy Data Centre is an online resource containing information about publicly funded energy research in the UK.
It holds details about energy projects and publications and gives access to research datasets.
The Data Centre provides a comprehensive collection of Landscapes showing the current research environment on a given topic,
along with roadmaps for future directions.
The Energy Data Centre holds six types of content, including the following:
-
Data Catalogue - a collection of energy-related datasets. Some are curated here at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and others are held elsewhere. Some datasets have restricted access, and you will need to register to use them.
-
Project Catalogue - containing information about over 7,700 publically funded energy research projects.
-
Publications including
-
those published by UKERC, or produced as a result of UKERC’s activities.
-
publically accessible outputs of the
Energy Technologies Institute (ETI).
-
Such as journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, ETI publications (working papers and reports), presentations, and calls for proposals. Each output has been linked to the relevant ETI project and, if applicable,
to a dataset that has been lodged in the Data Catalogue.
-
Landscapes (“Where we are today”) - providing a comprehensive account of competencies and publicly funded activities in energy research, and their development and demonstration in the UK.
-
Roadmaps (“Where we should be going”)- a collection of national and international documents summarizing the problems to be overcome before new technologies can be commercially viable.
-
Visualisations - a collection of visual tools for understanding large datasets.
