In July, Deividas Krukauskas, CMOS Sensor Design Group member, travelled to the United States with colleagues from STFC spin-out
Quantum Detectors (QD) to attend the 2023 Microscopy and Microanalysis conference.
Deividas attended the conference to highlight the work that STFC has carried out to develop a camera system optimised for 100 keV CryoEM - commercialised by QD and sold as the Quantum C100.
In addition to supporting QD with the showcase, Deividas utilised his time at M&M attending talks and poster sessions and holding discussions with other researchers on new insights and shared challenges.
During their time at the conference, QD also provided a workshop titled “Quantum Detectors showcase 4D STEM with MerlinEM” and presented a talk on “3D Electron Diffraction of Small Molecules on the MerlinEM Detector.”
Deividas said:
"M&M 2023 provided me with a better sense of the scale of work required to solve microscopic structures at a very high resolution, allowed me to acquire the latest industry knowledge, and taught me the success determinants of today in microscopy and microanalysis."
