We have extensive laboratory facilities to enable the delivery of our wide-ranging activities. We have a 110 square meter ISO 6 clean room, used mainly for our space cryocoolers. This includes an 8-meter-long ISO 5-flow bench for assembly, two thermal 1-meter diameter thermal vacuum chambers, and a microvibration facility for characterization.
Our general laboratory and support area totals 400 square meters for test and assembly and includes a small workshop for highly critical in-house machining operations as well as magnet winding machines for magnets from 0.25 millimetres up ~1 meter in diameter.
Our facilities are well-kitted with an array of fluid/cryogenic handling rigs, vacuum and leak detecting equipment, an orbital welding rig and an induction vacuum brazing rig, ultrasonic cleaning stations and vacuum bakeout ovens, as well as a large number of standard laboratory instruments and ancillary equipment. We also have a separate dedicated pressure and leak test facility which also houses a vacuum brazing furnace.
