The Large System Asssembly Area
Located at the rear of the Engineering Technology Centre building, the Large Systems Assembly Area is used by technicians and engineers to assemble and test large electrical systems such as suites of racks sharing a central control interface.
The area can be easily expanded to accommodate larger constructions and has a 30-tonne crane, with approximately 6m of height clearance. There is a separate climate-controlled enclosure for electrical testing that can be configured for testing high-voltage apparatus. It is also used for testing earth discharge equipment for commercial customers to relevant standards.
