Lean Six Sigma is a managerial approach fostering a culture of continuous improvement (with Yellow Belt denoting the level of training).

It combines Six Sigma methods and tools (used to improve business processes) with the Lean philosophy (which focuses on preserving value and reducing waste).

Projects led by Technology staff focus on:

  • Improving the efficacy and reliability of our facilities
  • Raising awareness of group capabilities and streamlining service requests
  • Project information retrievability
  • Continuous improvement of our ability to deliver advanced technology
  • Technician optimisation

Each of the site's 26 projects will benefit from a local Project Sponsor, governing from a light-touch Steering Group (chaired by our Technology staff member Kieran Cheetham) and 1:1 coaching from a Black Belt practitioner from Catalyst Consulting.

The staff involved will also present at a showcase this autumn and will have the opportunity to pursue Green Belt training next year.

We look forward to seeing the outcomes of these projects and celebrating our staff's drive for Continuous Improvement!
